Why Manchester?
For years, the UK hosting market has been overly centralized in London (Slough/Docklands). While our LDN-1 region remains our primary connectivity hub, our enterprise clients—particularly in FinTech and Media—requested a secondary location for Disaster Recovery (DR) that satisfies data sovereignty requirements without relying on the London power grid.
Manchester serves as the perfect strategic counterpart. It offers distinct power grid separation from London while maintaining sub-4ms round-trip latency to the capital via our private dark fiber ring.
MAN-1 Technical Specifications
The new facility is built to Tier-3+ standards and is designed specifically for high-density compute workloads.
100% Renewable Energy (Wind/Hydro). N+1 redundant UPS and Diesel generators with 48h onsite fuel.
Carrier Neutral. Direct peering with IX Manchester. 400Gbps core backbone capacity.
24/7/365 Onsite Security. Biometric access control. Perimeter fencing and CCTV monitoring.
Availability & Pricing
Effective immediately, MAN-1 is available in the control panel for deploying:
- Cloud VPS: All instance sizes (Start to Pro).
- Bare Metal: AMD EPYC Gen 4 configurations.
- Object Storage: S3-compatible buckets for offsite backups.
Pricing for MAN-1 is identical to our London region. We do not charge a premium for geographic diversity.
A Note for Existing Customers
If you currently run critical workloads in LDN-1, we strongly recommend deploying a passive backup node in MAN-1. Our support team can assist with setting up private networking (VLANs) between the two regions to facilitate seamless replication.
